Get ready for some tough love. If you are copying Get ready for some tough love. If you are copying your competitors’ brand... I can absolutely tell. And it is ABSOLUTELY hurting your business. 💁🏼‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you are looking on Pinterest and copying color palettes, looking at your direct competitors and trying to match their exact vibe, or just simply copying branding trends... I can ABSOLUTELY tell. And guess what? So can your audience. 😬 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I get it. Copying other people who got it right is easy. I'm guilty of having done it in the past. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are trends, even in my industry, that I see more and more. I am picturing a branding graphic right now that seems to be all the rage right now with designers. Does it look nice? Totally! Can I think off the top of my head which accounts I've seen it on? Nope! 🤷🏼‍♀️Why? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👉🏼Because directly copying another business’s brand completely destroys your competitive positioning. Listen, copying isn’t going to totally make or break your brand. But it sure isn’t helping! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ HOW TO BUILD A BRAND THAT STANDS OUT > Build it for your target audience, not you, not what you think looks pretty. > STOP FOLLOWING BRANDING TRENDS. > Don't do something just because that's the "norm" of your industry. I can't think of a better day to launch a subscription box by women, for women, than #InternationalWomensDay 💕 The goal for this Shopify site was simplicity, with a polished and feminine look. Nailed it! Absolutely loved working on this site, absolutely love their mission, & absolutely recommend you check them out! -- Shopify websites can be tricky and require a lot of custom CSS to make them look elevated. There are a few website platforms I give the green-light to people to try and DIY... Shopify is NOT one of them!🙌🏼
